Div Odendaal : SAPU Legal Director
Div Odendaal was appointed as the Director : Sapu Legal with effect from 1 July 2020.
He joined SAPU after a 36 year career in the S A Police Service of which 30 years were in the legal department of SAPS.He specialised In labour and HR matters,both individual as well as collective matters.As such he was one of the founding members of both the NNF as well as the SSSBC where he participated as a negotiator as from 1995.
Div Odendaal is a graduate from three universities:He obtained a BA (Law) from the (then) RAU, a LL.B and LL.M(Labour Law) from Unisa and an Advanced Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution(cum laude) from the University of Pretoria.He is also an admitted advocate of the High Court.
He is enjoying the opportunity to offer his skills to SAPU and its members in ensuring that the rights of employees are advanced and protected in terms of the governing labour law regime applicable in South Africa.

- Uncontested divorces,.
- Maintenance disputes
- Protection of parental rights including enforcement of right of access to minor children
- Adoption of minor children.
CIVIL LAW MATTERS
- Legal costs of civil court proceedings for contractual or delictual damage
- Drafting of will (capped at R1500.00)
- Assistance with the removal of name from a credit bureau.
- Assistance with the conveyancing fees of a private residential dwelling, capped at R6000
CRIMINAL MATTERS
- Legal costs of criminal proceedings in a court of law or other statutory constituted body.
- One appeal on conviction, sentence or both.
- Bail applications, including one appeal to a higher court in case of refusal.
